It's not just Benjamin Britten who celebrates an anniversary this year. Little known for anything other than his piano compositions, French composer Charles Alkan, has his bi-centenary this year, and so, together with my intrepid pianist Ray Keary, we will be performing his Sonate de Concert, Op 47, for cello and piano at many of our recitals this year. We are pairing it with the Cello Sonata in C by Benjamin Britten also. Check out when you can hear us perform in Ireland during February.
